I'm sure many of you have heard, but my heart goes out to the fans and crew involved in the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair. It hits a little close to home as I've done quite a bit of concert roof building in the past. I also know several of the people on the crew involved in the accident. Luckily none of them were injured. It's a terrible tragedy and my thoughts and prayers are with those involved.
Some random pictures...
So we're an 8 truck show. 9 with My Chemical's truck. A lot of places only have room for one or two trucks at a time. We were lucky this day to have seven docks backed up to the stage.
The silhouettes from the left are some random security guy, Robert the protools guy who we're starting to call bar. Short for spacebar because all he does is playback during the show. Ski, blink's monitor engineer and Tom V. the monitor tech.
This night at Hershey Park near the beginning of the show a praying mantis flew onto Mark's mic stand as he was singing. It eventually ended up crawling on Tom's foot pedals and they made a big deal of it. They made Doug the guitar tech come and get it. He came out with a towel and captured it. It's hard to see but here's the bug hanging from Doug's work light. It eventually flew back out on stage again. Guess it likes the spotlight.
Spoiler Alert: Here's Travis's drum solo. If you're going to the show you might not want to watch this.
