Jones Beach

I wasn't quite sure how the schedule would be from Holmdel, NJ to Jones Beach, Long Island.  We finished load out about 1:15a in NJ and Roz our crew chief told us to "shower up."  Ok, I guess we're taking showers here.  After showers people seemed to want to stay up and I didn't want to look like a downer, but eventually went to bed around 3am.  Slept good on the bus ride to Jones Beach.  Call was 8am. I guess no hotel.  I woke up at 7:15 to make sure I was ready and everyone was still sleeping.  I finally got up at 7:45a and wondered why nobody else was awake.  Traditionally if you're late in this business it's really bad.  I wandered over to the stage, still very tired. I found Roz and he gave me the low down on the equipment we would be using that day.  Got some breakfast and a few minutes after 8 everyone showed up.  Ok, good to know.

Jones Beach is a venue originally created in the 50's for musicals.  The stage area was on an island and the audience was on the mainland with water in between. There is a tunnel below the water that gets you to the island.  Since then they have filled in the 'moat' between the stage but the tunnel is still there.

We decided to do a unique sub configuration today based on the available space and sight line issues to the stage.  Kevin took a pic of me standing in the middle, not turned on!  Looking like a true roadie. :)

On stage right (my side) is where the forklift lifts every piece of equipment for the show on to the stage.  That being said, I had to wait until everything was on stage until I could fly my speakers.  On the flip side, I will be the first to load out.  Lucky me.

Well my internet connection is retarded and can't upload any more pictures.  More to come...
